Differences Between 2019 Honda Accord & 2019 Honda Civic

Serving Cincinnati, OH, Louisville, KY, and Florence, KY

Redesigned for better performance and connectivity, the 2019 Honda Accord and 2019 Honda Civic are mid-size sedans with class-leading amenities. Turbocharged engines and automatic transmission systems are some of the top highlights under the hood of these sporty cars. Both models have high-tech cabins with navigation systems, smartphone portals and remote services.

Performance

The 2019 Accord is available with the 1.5T engine block that produces just more than 190 horsepower. Having a boost pressure of 20.2 psi, this turbocharged engine cranks out slightly over 190 pound-feet of torque. The much more powerful 2.0T turbo engine delivers just more than 250 hp and 270 lb-ft. Each powertrain has valves with the DOHC VTEC design. Paired with the 3 Mode Drive, a hybrid system is also available in the redesigned Accord. The battery in the hybrid models uses the latest lithium-ion technology. The 2019 Civic's 1.5 L turbo engine pumps out approximately 175 hp and 175 lb-ft. Rated at slightly less than 160 hp, the naturally aspirated 2.0 L engine has the DOHC i-VTEC valvetrain. Both Honda sedans can operate on the Eco Assist System that increases fuel economy.

Digital Technology

A head-up display is a notable new feature that's available in the 2019 Accord's cockpit. Installed in the instrument cluster, the Power Flow Monitor displays real-time data on the hybrid powertrain. For example, you can view the battery's charge and output of the electric motor on this crisp display. A GPS navigation system with a slanted 8-inch touch screen is also available in this premium Honda sedan. You can look at 3D maps in a maximum resolution of 720P. A satellite-linked navigation system with a 7-inch touch-screen monitor is also available in the 2019 Civic Touring. Each Honda car accepts iPhone connections through Apple CarPlay and Android connections through Android Auto. You can also take advantage of near field communication (NFC) technology in the Accord. This updated model has a mobile hotspot and wireless phone charger. As in previous years, the 2019 Accord and Civic have the HondaLink services with Bluetooth and other smartphone connectivity. Each sedan is available with 10 speakers that blast 450 acoustic watts.

Exterior

The 2019 Accord and Civic have low-beam headlights with LED bulbs and automatic on/off operation. LED tail lights and integrated light bars are installed on these Honda sedans. Both vehicles have the Smart Entry technology that reduces the risk of theft and vandalism. You'll also love the Walk Away Auto Lock function, which locks the doors after a time delay. An aluminum hood is standard on the sporty Accord, which also has body-colored door handles and chrome exhaust tips. This stylish sedan comes in Still Night Pearl, San Marino Red, Champagne Frost and other premium paint colors. Some of the Civic's awesome body finishes include Molten Lava and Cosmic Blue.
